Live music bar in Nice: every format in the Vieux-Nice cellar

In Nice, bars offering real live music — not background noise, not a playlist — are rare. Les Folies d'Edmonde, at 16 rue Benoît Bunico in the Vieux-Nice, is an exception: the 17th-century vaulted cellar hosts a variety of musical formats throughout the year, from open-stage karaoke to jazz jam sessions, flamenco concerts, drag shows and DJ sets.

The vaulted cellar: rare acoustics in the Vieux-Nice

Built in the 17th century, the Les Folies d'Edmonde cellar offers a naturally warm acoustics that modern venues cannot replicate. The stage is equipped to host up to 3 musicians simultaneously. The room's capacity — 30 to 50 people depending on configuration — creates an intimacy between artists and audience impossible in a large venue.

Musical formats at Les Folies d'Edmonde

Open-stage karaoke

Professional host, real-time sound adjustment, no song limit. Lyrics screens face the singers only — the audience watches a real performance.

Monthly Jam Session — U.NICE.ON

Once a month, on Monday evenings, the U.NICE.ON collective takes over artistic direction of the cellar. Jazz, funk, soul — open to all levels, from self-taught to professional.

Concerts & themed evenings

Flamenco, drag show, stand-up, music blind test — the programme rotates so every visit is different. Some evenings feature artists from the Nice or regional music scene.

DJ sets & dance nights

As the evening progresses, the cellar transforms. Electro, house, R&B — the stage gives way to the dancefloor, and the vaulted cellar naturally amplifies collective energy.

Groups & private events: hire the cellar

The Les Folies d'Edmonde cellar can be privately hired for groups of 30 to 50 people. Bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, birthdays, team nights out — with the stage, sound and signature cocktails part of the package.

Cocktails & dining on concert nights

On live music nights, the signature cocktail menu accompanies every set. The André (French chestnut whisky, bourbon, orange juice) and La Ginette (mezcal, tequila, mango, verbena) are particularly suited to extended listening. To dine, partner restaurants OKA Nice, Fish Bar 2.0 and Etna Rosso come and serve you directly at your table in the cellar — you settle the bill with the restaurant.
